For New Year’s Eve, I got together with a group of my friends. We just hung out and played games. I found out that one of my friends is a little more competitive than I had thought. He is the kind of person who is a sore winner or sore loser; the game is rigged if he loses, but if he wins he’s all of a sudden better than you. We played a Legends of the Hidden Temple card game and he somehow ended up winning. Just that one win was like a buffet for his ego.
We started an impromptu ping pong tournament. Let’s just say that I need to brush up on my skills, but at least I didn’t come in last place (we had the losers of each round compete). My friend who had won the card game wanted to battle me in ping pong. I don’t know why I said yes. He ended up winning–he made sure that I knew he won. Don’t be like him at a party.
This year, we brought in the new year with my friend singing along to his recorded version of “My Heart Will Go On”. At some point in the song, we all started singing. It was a true bonding moment.
It’s officially 2018! Almost everyone I know is making new year’s resolutions. I’m more of the let’s wait and see kind of person. I don’t have anything specific I want to accomplish. (You can’t be disappointed if you don’t have any goals.) I’m excited to see what this year has in store for me.
