The other day, I bought a Christmas album called We Wish You a Metal Xmas and a Headbanging New Year!. It’s exactly what it sounds like. A bunch of hard rock/metal artists got together and recorded a Christmas album. It features Ronnie James Dio (formally of Black Sabbath and Dio), Stephen Pearcy (formally of Ratt), Tommy Shaw (of Styx), Alice Cooper, Dave Grohl (of Foo Fighters), Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead), and more. It’s probably the best purchase of Christmas Music I have ever made.
I work at Dierbergs and they have already switched to Christmas music. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of Christmas music as much as the next person, but it’s too early. Also, it gets old after awhile, especially when you work a seven hour shift. I swear their music is on a two hour loop. This time last year, I worked back in the salad bar. I had the freedom to turn on the radio to cover up the Christmas music. Now that I’m working in the front end, I don’t have that luxury.
Christmas music reminds me that the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert is coming up! This year will be my fourth time seeing them. Each year, they tour a different Christmas-themed show. Their stage setups are the coolest I’ve ever seen; one year the stage rose up through this toy chest looking thing. It was for their Christmas Attic tour. I always recommend this band to people. They are amazing live. They’ll be doing two shows in St. Louis on December 26th. They also donate a dollar from each ticket to a local charity. Their tour this year is The Ghosts of Christmas Eve. Their most famous song is their rendition of Carol of the Bells. The reason I love them so much is because they put a spin on classic Christmas and Classical music. They play guitars and drums and that whole deal. It is truly a rock show; they have lasers, fire, and fireworks. It’s something I look forward to seeing every year. Tickets are on sale now…I highly recommend that you go.
I’m gonna have to google worst Xmas albums of all time. A lot of artists try to cash in and the results are miserable. Glad you found a good one!

Yeah, Bret Michaels just released his version of Jingle Bells of all songs. I’m not sure if he’s going to release a full Christmas album or just the song. Hoping it’s just the one song. It’s that bad.
